Fertility Treatments Overview

Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI is the first line of treatment for infertility. It is a laboratory procedure that separates fast moving sperms from the more sluggish or non-moving sperms. The fast moving sperms are then placed inside the woman's womb close to the time of ovulation.

In- Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

IVF involves a complex series of procedures wherein a number of eggs are retrieved from the ovaries. The eggs are fertilized by sperms in a highly controlled laboratory environment.

Intra Cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

ICSI is a type of In vitro fertilization procedure in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg. This procedure is preferred in cases where the patient has a history of repeated IVF failures, unexplained infertility ,poor sperm count, etc.

Donor Egg IVF

This procedure can be considered in cases where the female is infertile or due to some medical reasons, has no fertilized eggs, but is capable of bearing a child.

Cryopreservation

In IVF, preservation of the sperm, egg and embryo can be of significant importance.

Sperm freezing can be found beneficial in situations where, at the time of ovum pick-up, the male partner is unavailable or infertile.

Embryo freezing is found to be of great significance during an IVF procedure. As a response to the stimulation protocol a number of eggs are retrieved from a women during the pick-up procedure. The large number of eggs results in an equally large number of embryos that are formed. However, it is not advisable to transfer more than 3 embryos as it may result in multiple pregnancies. To avoid this situation, the embryos can be cryopreserved for use in the future if the present cycle fails.

We also provide oocyte freezing for females who may be interested in egg donation or want to preserve their eggs for future use.

Semen Processing

A semen sample contains a mixture of functional and non- functional spermatozoa. Semen processing is conducted to obtain embryos of high quality and to increase the fertilization rate.

Diagnostic and Operative Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy

In some cases, your doctor might recommend laparoscopy or hysteroscopy, in order to facilitate a normal delivery.

Minimal Stimulation IVF

Minimal Stimulation IVF is an alternative to the traditional IVF. It involves taking fewer medications that are available at lower costs and is of shorter duration. However, compared to traditional IVF, the success rate of Minimal Stimulation IVF is lower.

Ovulation Induction and Monitoring

As part of this procedure, the patient is injected with medication that stimulate her. Subsequently, planned sexual intercourse or IUI is suggested by the doctor to help achieve pregnancy.
